EV Charger Installation
Charging your car at home is cheaper and easier than hunting for a public charger. A good install comes down to the parts you can't see: the circuit, the earthing and the protection behind the charger.
I check your supply and fuse box first, help you pick a charger that suits your car, then fit it with the cables hidden or neatly clipped. Everything is tested and certified before I leave. I also set up the app, so the car charges on your cheap night rate.

EV chargers questions, answered
How much does a home EV charger cost to fit?
Most home chargers fall between £800 and £1,200 fitted, with the charger included. It depends on the charger and how far the cable has to run. I check first and give you one fixed price in writing.
Can my house take a 7kW charger?
Most can, but I always check your supply and fuse box first. If anything needs an upgrade, you'll know before I start.
Can I charge on a cheaper night tariff?
Yes. I set the charger up on its app, so it charges by itself in your cheap-rate hours.
I have no driveway. Can I still have a charger?
It depends on where you park. Tell me about your home and I'll give you an honest answer on what can be done.
Which EV charger should I get?
I fit all the main makes, including Ohme, Zappi, Pod Point and Hypervolt. I'll help you pick one that suits your car, your tariff and any solar panels you have.
Should I get a tethered or untethered charger?
A tethered charger has the cable fixed on, so you just plug in. An untethered one is neater and works with any car, but you keep the cable in the boot. I'll talk you through both.
Is there a grant for an EV charger in Wales?
Grants change often, and most are now for renters, flat owners and businesses. Ask me when you get in touch and I'll tell you what is open right now.
Can you fit chargers for a business or workplace?
Yes. I fit chargers for shops, offices and small units across Caerphilly and Cardiff, with the supply checked first and a fixed price in writing.
